Plastic ABS resin is currently the largest and most widely used polymer, which organically unifies the various properties of PB, PAN, and PS, and has excellent mechanical properties of toughness, hardness, and balanced rigidity. ABS is a ternary copolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene, where A represents acrylonitrile, B represents butadiene, and S represents styrene. After practical use, it was found that ABS plastic pipes are not resistant to sulfuric acid corrosion and will shatter and break when exposed to sulfuric acid.
Due to its three components, it is endowed with excellent performance; Acrylonitrile endows ABS resin with chemical stability, oil resistance, certain stiffness, and hardness; Butadiene improves its toughness, impact resistance, and cold resistance; Styrene gives it good dielectric properties and exhibits good processability.
Most ABS is non-toxic and impermeable, but slightly permeable to steam and has a low water absorption rate. After being immersed in water at room temperature for one year, the water absorption rate does not exceed 1% and the physical properties do not change. The surface of ABS resin products can be polished to obtain highly glossy products.
ABS has excellent comprehensive physical and mechanical properties, as well as excellent low-temperature impact resistance. Dimensional stability. Good electrical performance, wear resistance, chemical resistance, dyeing ability, finished product processing, and mechanical processing. ABS resin is resistant to water, inorganic salts, alkalis, and acids, and is insoluble in most alcohol and hydrocarbon solvents, but easily soluble in aldehydes, ketones, esters, and certain chlorinated hydrocarbons. ABS resin has a low heat deformation temperature and is flammable, but its weather resistance is poor. The melting temperature is between 217~237 ℃, and the thermal decomposition temperature is above 250 ℃. Nowadays, many modified ABS materials on the market are mixed with water-based materials and recycled materials. Resulting in unstable performance of the customer's molded products.
